We wanted to get off the strip and experience some of Las Vegas. WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED!!! The food was amazing and the experience was awesome. We got there around 9am on Sunday morning. We were seated immediately although as we were leaving there was a line around the corner. Definitely recommend this little gem!
The food was good, hot, freshly cooked and the portions were sizable. The waiting and seating needs an upgrade after Co-vid 19 social distancing is over. Visited 10-11-20 no Sunday NFL football on the large dark TV in the lobby. But good Gospel music & preaching blasting from speakers in the background. (I'm not into Gospel music.) I advise you plan ahead of time when visiting. The food was worth the wait and price.
My husband and I absolutely love Gritz Cafe! If you've been searching for the perfect Shrimp n Grits dish in the Vegas Valley, search no more! The recent expansion makes it all the more comfortable and pleasing to eat, and the service is always like coming back home. The owner is often there and her smile always greets us! A Las Vegas Iconic Location.
Line is always out the door and around the corner, for good reason! The food is banging. The curbside takes time, but real, fresh soul food is way worth a little bit of a wait.
In all the time this restaurant has been open I have heard nothing but good reviews, but had never been. Today a co-worker and I decided to order lunch. WORST experience ever!!! I placed my order at 12:27pm and my coworker left to pick it up. Upon her arrival, she was told the food would be ready in 10 minutes and brought to her car. 25 minutes pass and no food. She went back inside to inquire about our food and was told that there were 4 other orders ahead of ours. At 1:30 our food was still not ready and my co-worker left, asking the staff to call me when it was ready. I received a call ten minutes later stating that my food was FINALLY ready for pickup. Upon arriving at the restaurant, the whole area outside smelled like weed. I understand it is legal now, but come on...right outside the door of the restaurant?? I went inside to get my food and saw the to go bag sitting on the table by the door. I went to look at the bag to see if it was mine and was immediately yelled at that I couldn't touch those. I gave the counter worker my name and she said "Oh, but I have to give you the order. I can't let you just take it." Ok fine, then leave them behind the counter if you don't want people to be able to come in and pick up what they have paid for. I tried...I really did, on the recommendation of a good friend of mine, but the slowness of the service and the attitude of the person I encountered left me not wanting to patronize this restaurant again.
