Very, very good Catfish and sides. Who ever is back there burning, thank you! My wife and I drove to Vegas for a little get away and wanted Soul food! If you are looking for the same stop in. 2 plates and desert will run about 50, but you get 3 nice size portions of fish (per plate), two sides, a huge slice of corn bread and 2 desserts! Bring your own drink and life is good! Oh yeah, the liquor store is right next door! Enjoy! š„š„š
I love this place. I donāt know why the Apple Maps says this place is closed permanently which I hope it isnāt cause I always come here twice a month & I wouldnāt know what to do w/myself if it was closed! The best soul food in Vegas!
I never write reviews but I had to this was one of the worst meals I have had we ordered 3 meals catfish and two chicken wing dinners two of them had yams and Mac n cheese and one with mashed potatoes and green beans the Mac and cheese was nasty and had no taste the yams was canned but they was the best of it all the green beans was canned no taste the baked beans had no meat very dark looked very old but clearly from a can they catfish was ok had to much black pepper the chicken was not done and had no seasoning I had to try and re fry them and use extreme hot sauce for taste but we still couldnāt eat it the cornbread was jiffy but not cooked long enough very doughy the plates they came in looked like they came from the back of the pantry and had stains all over them and we paid 50 dollars for the food itās priced to high to such back quality we definitely will not go back I do not recommend this place ohh and when we went to the door to order they looked closed and some guy came to the door barely opened the door and handed us a ragged menu that was dirty and hand written we Shouldāve known to leave but now we know
I rarely write reviews, just leave a rating, but I had to say a few things. Iām a resent transplant to the vegas area from the Carolinas (grew up in the NE US though), and was craving a little taste of the āsouthā. This place came highly recommended, and I do my best to support local minority businesses plus itās literally around the corner. My grandparents are Gullah geechee (SC coastal area) and thatās all I ate growing up. The price was a bit much, and the food was very underwhelming. Catfish was over cooked, and tasteless, yams from a can were pretty obvious. My spouse ordered smoothered pork chops and they were so bland, gravy had no flavor at all, and no comment on the Mac n cheese. I was very disappointed and hope that it was just a bad day. I am a chef myself and try not to be critical of others food. Maybe in a few months Iāll give them another try .
Call me cake ...š Had chicken and waffles was so good .š Don't let the name foul you soul food and best cakes I have šÆ ever had. Service an A+ thanks and weāll be back.
